Speaking of the number 31, that's the number of 16 & unders whose parents have signed them up for this year's Ha-Ha.
That's a record. If the Poobah had school age kids in California, he'd be taking them out of the country, too, if at all possible.
While sometimes shy in the beginning, kids love clowns and face paint. Which is why the Ha-Ha has contracted for the services of the clown who did the facepaint of the three women in the accompanying photo.
By the way, one of the three is the Assistant Poobah. Can you pick her out?
The Ha-Ha facepainter, who is friendly rather than frightening, will only available for 90 minutes, so it will be kids first, and then adults if there is any time left over.
