THE SMALLEST HA-HA BOAT EVER IS BACK!
We're talking about the Mirror Offshore 19 Bluebird, which Thomas Carr of Santa Cruz has sailed in two previous Baja Ha-Ha's.
A lifetime sailor with extensive offshore experience, Carr has received special dispensation to enter Bluebird from the Grand Poobah. Normally Ha-Ha entries have to be 27 feet long, and have been designed, built and maintained for offshore sailing.
So far there are 122 paid entries for this fall's 25th anniversary Baja Ha-Ha. Three of the last seven entries have been catamarans, which means this fall's Ha-Ha will have the greatest number of multihull entries ever.
The Baja Ha-Ha is the 750-mile cruisers' rally from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, with stops at funky but fun Turtle Bay, and spectacularly beautiful and pristine Bahia Santa Maria. A cruising rally means that the use of engines is permitted for safety and/or comfort.
The Ha-Ha festivities start on October 28th with the Ha-Ha Kickoff and Halloween Costume Party at the West Marine Superstore in San Diego.

Just for fun, along with a photo of the Grand Poobah and Carr, we've included two photos of Bahia Santa Maria, the second stop on the Baja Ha-Ha, about 175 miles north of Cabo. As you can see, it's both gorgeous, and there is plenty of room to anchor.
